2007 Safety Nets Ball
The Marine Connection 2007 Safety Nets Ball took place on 31 October at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London's Park Lane.
Although the charity always try to keep the "fun" in our fundraising events, of course we never forget the reason why the event is being hosted and as such, there was a serious, underlying message to the evening - to stop the needless deaths of over 300,000 dolphins, porpoises and other marine life each year who die due to entanglement in industrial fishing gear.
Items such as a Fender guitar personally signed by Marine Connection supporter Bryan Adams, plus fantastic fishnet vests and stockings designed by a host of celebrities which were auctioned to support the charity's work and in line with the theme of our Safety Nets(c) initiative 'These Fishnet's Don't Kill Dolphins'.
Many thanks to the sponsors, also the lovely Ce Ce Sammy & Jason Cundy for hosting the event and designer Eric Way for presenting the lingerie/auction part of the evening. The evening was rounded off by a performance by the Sugababes and a great DJ set by the fantastic Club De Fromage.
