How YOU Can Help !
Very little is being done by Member States of the European Community to
reduce the level of cetacean bycatch, even though each Member State are
obliged under the Habitats and Species Directive (92/43/EEC) to monitor the
incidental capture and killing of all cetaceans.
Each country is to blame for the dolphin deaths but European Fisheries Ministers have to take
responsibility. The general public can help demand changes in fishing
practices, in order to reduce the numbers of dolphins and whales dying every
year. You can help make these changes.
Take Action!
The Marine Connection urges
you to write a personal letter rather than email, as personal letters appear to have a greater impact with the authorities than emails.
