Marine Policy UK
The UK Government's vision for the marine environment is for “clean healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas”. By taking an ecosystem-based approach to marine management, UK marine policy should be underpinned by the conservation of biological diversity, sustainable development and integrated management.
In preparing the Marine Connection’s Marine Policy we aim to demonstrate our commitment to the UK’s dolphins, porpoises and whales, detailing areas of primary concern and bringing a greater degree of understanding to the ecosystem in which they live and the threats they face.
Our work does not stop here. We incorporate this work directly into our projects and campaigns aiming to bring about focussed and targeted change in UK Policy which will provide greater protection for marine biodiversity as a whole.
By campaigning for “clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas” we are ensuring a future for our dolphins, whales and porpoises.
