Marine litter, plastics & balloon releases

Marine litter currently poses a dire, vast and growing threat to marine life and their environment.

Most marine litter consists of material that degrades slowly, if at all. Despite their vastness, the oceans are a fragile resource and what we do in our backyard and community can have a positive or negative affect. Choices we make each day as to what we buy or the lifestyle habits we adopt, all have an environmental impact.

We live in a very out of sight, out of mind society. Although recycling is being promoted and encouraged, just how many of us give a second thought to where that disposable lighter, pen or toothbrush ends up when we designate it to the bin? By doing one simple thing, each and every one of us can make a difference.
