World week for captive dolphins

1st - 7th July, World week for captive dolphins!

Since the last dolphin show in the UK closed its doors 1993, July 4th has been marked as "World day for captive dolphins". This day is the brainchild of Alan Cooper of Cetacea Defence, and so important is the issue that this has now developed into a full week of activities to highlight the plight of dolphins and whales in captivity - inviting the general public to become involved in campaigns worldwide.

The Marine Connection is delighted to add our support for this important awareness week and urge everyone to get involved to speak out for captive dolphins and whales. During 'World week' the Marine Connection will be focussing our efforts on our campaign opposing dolphinariums in the Red Sea area - and there are several ways in which you can help us:
