Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans Of the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and Contiguous Atlantic Area (ACCOBAMS)
The purpose of the ACCOBAMS Agreement is to reduce the threat to Cetaceans in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. It is the first Agreement binding the countries in these two sub-regions, enabling them to work together on a matter of general issues relating to dolphins and whales.

Coordinates and promotes marine research in the North Atlantic. This
includes adjacent seas such as the Baltic Sea and North Sea.

The International Whaling Commission was set up under the International
Convention for the Regulation of Whaling. The purpose of the Convention is
to provide for the proper conservation of whale stocks and thus make
possible the orderly development of the whaling industry.

Partnership For Action Against Wildlife Crime (PAW)
PAW comprises of NGO's and Government agencies of all shapes and sizes, with a range of different objectives but brought together by a shared aim to fight wildlife crime. The idea for a PAW marine working group stemmed from the fact there was no specific group within PAW dealing with marine issues. The Marine Connection are partners of PAW and the Marine Working Group.
