| Dolphin Discovery plans halted – for now
Dolphin Discovery, who already run one facility in Anguilla and others in the Turks & Caicos and Mexico, are seeking planning permission to move their facility in Anguilla from its’ current location at Barnes Bay to a new development at Blowing Point.
The Marine Connection have supported calls from the local community to have an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) carried out prior to any decision being made, and are delighed to report that, following a public meeting, the Land Development Control Committee (LDCC) have requested an EIA be carried out in order to address the many concerns and issues raised and have deferred the application by Dolphin Discovery until this has been completed and any mitigation measures recommended. The committee also congratulated the local community and all interested parties for their participating, observation and comments which they found very helpful.
Dolphin Discovery (Anguilla) have stated that if the new development plans for the Blowing Point facility are not approved then Dolphin Discovery will move from Anguilla – we await the outcome with interest and will continue to support the local community in their aims to stop this development from proceeding.
