Mystic Aquarium beluga dies

Inuk, the 28 year old male beluga which was held at Mystic Aquarium has died.

Inuk first became ill on January 29th, when he began showing a lack of interest in food. A blood test revealed a possible acute infection, further complicated by kidney failure. This could have been the cause of the belugas' unexpected death on Friday 19 February.

A necropsy was performed at the University of Connecticut, however results will not be available for at least two weeks.
