Trainer injured at Sea World, Gold Coast

The Marine Connection has received reports that a trainer has been injured at Australia's Sea World on the Gold Coast, the facility which now holds 'Cliffy' the dolphin.

Apparently ambulance crew were called and found the trainer had sustained back/neck injuries after a dolphin had apparently 'fallen' on him during a training session. Sea World have said that the trainer incurred a minor soft tissue injury after he was 'bumped' by the dolphin during an aerial manoeuvre.

However, Sea World have stressed that the trainer's injuries were minor and after being assessed by their own medical staff, he was taken to the hospital purely as a precautionary measure and is expected to return to work as usual.
