Concern grows for Dolphinella dolphins

The charity are currently in the process of collating information collected in order that we can compile a full report, to be presented to the authorities in order to substantiate our claims of concern for the welfare of animals at this facility.

Allan reports, "There was no direct shade over either the main or holding pools, leaving the animals open to exposure from the sun. One of the younger dolphins spent its time swimming slowly around the pool, diving occasionally, and another of the dolphins displayed behaviour which gives me great cause for concern. For 20 minutes prior to the show commencing, the dolphin hardly moved and simply lay on the surface of the pool with its' nose touching the side. I would ascertain that the condition of this animal was serious, as it was unable to complete the simplest of tasks, such are retreiving a foam disc. As training methods entail dolphins being "rewarded" by food for completion of a trick, this animal did not receive as much food as the other animals, simply one of two fish.".
