Further investigation by the charity has revealed that the land on which the Hilton Dreams Vacation Club and the Hilton Sharm Dreams Hotel are built is owned by the Sharm Dreams Company for Tourist Investment and that the day to day management is under the control of Hilton. Hilton are now saying that the new Aqua Park is nothing to do with them and will be managed by another company. However we believe they are linked. The land it is being built on is owned by the Sharm Dreams Investment Company who are actually a parent company (as you will see from the email address below which actually includes the hsdvc - Hilton Sharm Dreams Vacation Club within the text) therefore Hilton are involved with this new development planning to keep captive dolphins.

Please email the Sharm Dreams Investment Company ownerservice@hsdvc.com asking them to ensure the new aqua park they are planning on their land contains pools for the use of humans only and that they will not authorize construction of a pool to house dolphins or whales.

Hilton are already actively promoting Dolphinella and a member of their staff was quoted as saying “we can't wait until Hilton has its own dolphins in the aqua park’. Please email the Manager of Hilton Dreams, Haitham Nassar, asking him to stop promoting Dolphinella at the Hilton Dreams Hotel, and ask for a firm assurance that Hilton will not promote or send their guests to the new dolphin pool, if it is allowed to proceed haitham.nassar@hilton.com

In addition, please email the Head of CITES in Cairo, Professor Samy el Fellaly, asking for his comments as to why any dolphin imports would be authorized for this new aqua park when he has specifically stated that no more dolphins would be imported for display in Egypt for this purpose

The Marine Connection are now in the process of contacting holiday and dive companies who send customers to the Hilton Sharm Dreams, asking them to boycott the facility until they stop promoting captive dolphins as not only are they associated with a proposed dolphin facility at the aqua park but they currently heavily promote Dolphinella at the hotel entertainments desk.

Regaldive are one of many dive tour operators that send customers to the Hilton Dreams resort. Despite the Marine Connection informing Regaldive that Hilton are actively promoting dolphins in captivity, they have refused to stop sending their customers to Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort. It is disgraceful for companies such as Regaldive who make profit from sending people to destinations worldwide to enjoy marinelife in the wild, to continue to support a company who actively condone keeping dolphins in captivity. Surely dive companies profiting from the oceans have a responsibiity to give something back; protect marine life and ensure they are not taken from the wild to serve a life of captivity for profit.

Email Regaldive asking them to reconsider their decision and stop using the Hilton Dreams Sharm Resort until they pledge not to promote or condone captive facilities.
