Marine Connection and Don’t Do the Dodo project have joined forces to save dolphins and ultimately the world! Unfortunately the Dodo is now extinct, a mistake we should do our utmost to never repeat again. We need to take care of our planet and wildlife, and it’s not just our animals that are at risk, but also the plants we grow for food and medicines, but the water we drink and the very air we breathe.

Don’t Do the Dodo aims to crash into the UK Top 10 and raise further awareness to the plight of endangered species around the world, starting with the Baiji dolphin. After surviving for millions of years the Baiji dolphin was declared effectively extinct in December 2006 after a fruitless six-week search of its Yangtze River habitat. Around 400 of these marine mammals were believed to be living in the Yangtze in the early 1980s and now, literally none exist! This isn't just a loss for China but for all mankind.

Just like the Dodo, many marine mammal species are facing extinction. The Vaquita which belong to the porpoise family member of cetaceans and found only in the Gulf of California may be just two years away from reaching such low levels that they too will plunge towards extinction, only about 150 vaquita remain.
